10 Week Dental Assistant Training Program

Program Objective:
To prepare any professional self-starter for an entry level position in the dental field where they can further utilize their training upon graduation.
Program Description:
The dental assistant program runs for 10 consecutive weeks Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 - 9:30 pm. The Program includes a book study format along with a large portion of the course being actual hands on training. After the training course, each student will be required to do a 40 hour practicum in local dental offices. After completion of the 10 weeks and 40 hour practicum you must have a minimum of 3 month on the job training by a Florida licensed dentist to receive your Florida Certifications. The 3 month minimum on the job training can be done either by internship or as a paid position.
After completing the program and receiving formal training by a Florida licensed dentist, the student will be eligible (at no additional cost)for the X-ray and EFDA State of Florida Certifications. The student will also receive a 2 year American Heart Association CPR certification in the program.
Our courses are Certified by the Florida Board of Dentistry and Licensed by the Board of Education, Commission for Independent Education, License # 4335. Our training is designed to promote the basic, entry level dental assisting skills. After completing this training program, you can begin a career in the dental field. Our training program focuses on the dental assisting skills and procedures you will utilize on a daily basis.

Admissions/Prerequisites:
DAI requires verification of a high school diploma, GED prior to attending or possesses a certification in the medical field(CNA, LPN) are eligible for admission. A high school student may attend the program with parent or guardian permission and a copy of current high school transcripts. All applicants must have a professional appearance and wear a medical scrub uniform to class (purchased on their own, any color).
